The RS finally has a 'New Life'.   The Bike, with its damage & a box of bits.

  A New Life 11-90f10     A New Life 10-c9d10   A New Life 10-6ba11  A New Life 10-fa110

How it looks now. Still stock. Registered now so out for a squirt - fog lifting & a balmy 6c.
Just over 50KM, the only thing (so far) is the down shift from 2nd to 1st, sometimes taking a couple of        goes, maybe just clutch adjustment as it was its first outing.

Thanks to all for the assistance.   Cheers Dale

Fantastic effort Dale!
I'm finding bright colours (yellow, orange) on K bikes oddly appealing these days.
Congratulations.

Good job. Always nice to see someone take what many would consider a parts bike and restore to being a runner again. Looks great!

Very, very nice!  I like the way yellow works on the K series.  It is a good contrast for the aluminum and black of the structural and mechanical components.

Kudos for your fine job of getting an old K back on the road.

Well done Dale. Just looking at the colour - is it possible that you are related to the Grabau brothers who have both had "Yellow Beasts".

Cheers

Well, looks like i'll be noticed even in a crowd.
Related to the Grabau bro's - Just maybe, did live in the Hunter valley for just over a decade.
   Left several years ago now.
Regarding the down shift not being positive, the clutch did need adjusting but after a ride it had'nt improved.
So, some investigating - But it does go well ( may have worn out my welcome 'round Cliff Drive already )
       Very Happy  Dale

Regarding sticky shifting, may I suggest adding a couple tablespoons of molybdenum disulfide powder to the transmission oil.  I have a K75S that was very sticky downshifting from 3rd to 2nd and 2nd to 1st even after doing the clutch splines.  After adding the powder the problem has all but disappeared, only happening very occasionally the first mile or two when the bike has sat for more than a couple of days.

On all three of my bikes the moly powder has made all shifting noticeably smoother and more positive.

One other thing, one of my bikes came with a loose grub screw on the shifter shaft that resulted in a lot of free play in the pedal.  I could see where that play could lead to some shifting issues.  There should be almost no free play in the end of the shifter.  That free play can lead to missed shifts.
