$10.500AUD?
I'd have thought that was a bit exxy......but it seems to fit in with the average price there.

That IS a big question. I have to be able to find a chair that you can open up for her to get some fresh air on her travels when the weather is good. She also needs to be able to get a good forward view and position.
Klompy, I've been thinking about that ...but I think I would eventually run into trouble with Tüv. Maybe I can grab an outfit in Elgnand and ride it back to Germany...but there still might be the same trouble with Tüv......

Yep, the Tüv would have a field day with an English outfit.....do they allow left-hand chairs?

88...I'm sure I can work something out for her....can't be worse than her current fashion trends!

Euro outfits Sam_2414

SP, apparently it's ok to have the chair on the left, ( which I prefer). The problem would be, as you say, letting a Jerry Tüv bloke loose on a home made job. I can just imagine the results.....

Yes, the price is within the average cost of a chair.

The EML is one of the few that will pass the TUV. If I remember correctly,in Germany you have to have a double swing arm and there are not too many options for the K100 Sad

I finally have a bit of free time and start to work on my EML. It won't be ready for the spring, but I still have the solo K100. Smile

There's a guy in northern NSW who was telling me he was going to make a small production run of double swing-arms for K bikes and chairs. Danged if I can remember his name...but he lives near Ballina. I will see if I can find his contact details...could be useful for those here in Horsetrailya who are thinking of getting into chairs.

Judging by the amount of boot scrapes appearing on my pillion seat these days I might have to start investigate this trend. Apparently I can't swing the leg over as high as I used to. Dang.

Well...you still have to throw a leg over...but it helps to have something stable underneath you as you do it...so to speak. Hmmm.

It's mainly getting off after a long ride, the old hips giving me gyp . Maybe I need to do some exercises. Who said that?
Anyway, how do you learn to ride one of these things and don't say just jump on and see what happens.

OK...so find a large, open space without canals, rivers or other obstacles...THEN see what happens. Actually, I've been riding outfits on and off since I was a teenager, so it's sort of second nature to me. Not sure if there are any courses available in Australia. I know in Europe they have special riding courses.

This Oran Park link might take you somewhere..help you find someone who can help etc.

http://www.experiencemotorsport.com.au/active/nsw/driver_training_courses_gift_vouchers/oran_park_sydney/sidecar_training.php

Initial observations about riding an outfit are that the handling is best described as a-symmetrical...You can't ride one like a solo bike. Also, the handling of each outfit differs, depending on how it's set up. I prefer mine with a little more tow in than most..this is because of my leg and it also keeps the chair on the ground a little more. Road camber plays a more important role as well. The immediately frightening thing is that you have to steer the thing....it feels weird. Still, if I can get used to it and ride one...anyone can. Blokes like Sidecar Paul on this list would certainly be able to give good advice.
Sean.
