I have a like new Corbin Dual Sport saddle (seat) with removable backrest that I want to sell. I have sold my 85 K100 Sad and this seat was not on my bike, it came with some other parts I bought. I never thought to check and see if it would fit my bike. What is the difference between an 85 and 86 and later K100 seat? Is there an easy way to tell? Unfortunately the label with the model number of the Corbin seat is missing. Do K100 seats also fit K75's?

The obvious difference is that the earlier seats had the pillion handles incorporated in them as opposed to them being a part of the tail unit.

The K75 models all had the later seat so are interchangeable with the K100 seats that do not have the pillion handles.

G'day Motoleo , from Corbin's website

http://www.corbin.com/bmw/8696canyon.shtml

this is the seat without the handles built in , as you can see from the description it will fit K75 , K100 & K1100

this is the seat that I had for my 87 K100RS

http://www.corbin.com/bmw/kmenu1.shtml

look at the bottom of the page , they show an image of the 85 K100 model ( handles in the seat ) I'm pretty sure it will not fit the K75

so which do you have ?

Thanks postman and other replies. The pictures above answered my question. I have the early seat.
Anyone know what model years K100 and K75 the early seat fits? Or is it just 85 K100?

The early K100 seats don't fit a K75 and only 85 or earlier K100

I have an 84RT [old seat shape] and a 92 LT [new seat shape].

The handles are screwed into the underside of the RT seat but on the later LT they are part of the rear cowl.

However, it appears as if the new seat type would fit the older RT but would leave me without the handles. it also seems like the handles can be detached from the earlier seat and screwed into the rear cowl....

Question: has anyone done this? My RT came with a crap seat and the LT has a comfort seat which I love.

To adapt a different seat, the easy and cheap way is to replace the cowl.
A lot are for sale on Ebay and they are as cheap as $9.99
A 86 cowl will fit on an 85 base.

If it's a red pin-striped seat, then I can make a good offer as I'm in the market to replace mine.
