Ive bought a small upper fairing off ebay, the basic one that fits a 1985 k100. Does anyone know whether the gap between the fairing and the tank should have trim panels in that gap like the rt model . Ive looked on the motorworks parts list , its not entirely clear what goes in there.
Any help is appreciated.scratch

I,m sorry its a bit vague ,it is the one with the round headlight , very small in two sections with small vents on the front. I cannot show you a picky at the moment cos its at the body shop being painted, but it is a standard fairing on the early k100.

There is a very rare and expensive if you find one cowl that covers the radiator and encloses the sides just below where the hole is at the side

They are the original K100 naked there is a pic of one on the red K100 that travis has.

click on the pic and get the large image. I think that early model had the smaller tank that the later Basic/2 has and the K75c and s has

The K100 Basic/2 has the 21litre tank from the K75. The original K100 Basic had the same 22litre tank as the other K100's.

Thanks so the cowl will fit the original tank. Good luck finding one, the last one I saw for sale was on ebay in US and went as a buy now for $400 but I am told that they are available from UK new but when I followed the link the page was no longer there.
Motoworks in UK may have a complete kit.

I think that what you are after is the rear mounting for the headlamp surround, part #1 in this:
