Hello all. Just picked up a 1985 K100RT running but just barely. Love the bike and the look and the ride and the, well you get the picture. Had plenty of Japanese bikes, thought I'd try my luck with a BMW.
Love to meet up with any locals and looking for some good long rides next year.

Thanks, Mark

Welcome Birdhunter I'm sure you will be in love with that K very quickly they have that way on most new owners.
If you go to the Portal page here and have a read through the link to "So you just bought a BMW motorcycle- What now"  you get heaps of really good info for a first time owner of an older Beemer that will help you get better aquainted with the old girl.

Thanks all for the welcome and info. I'll be needing it. Moose I'm in Dearborn but planning a ride to Higgins lake and beyond this summer. Perhaps we can meet up.

As B/W said, you're in for ever. After 2 Yamahas (not mentioning the old MZs in my young ages) I'm on my 3rd Beemer now with no intention to change back again Smile

Welcome along!
