Hello Ben and welcome back.

Is it wrong to say I have your picture on my wall?
Actually it is a picture of a K, you just happen to be on it.

Not a lot of photos of Ks on one wheel. Unless they have fallen off the jack.

Hi Ben,

Like Rossco I will fess up to admit that you and 55 are pride of place in the centre of my desktop.
Nothing dodgy going on - really!
I'm sure number 55 brings a grin to many around here as you both challenge the Kbike appliance tag.
Admire your work.

Hello, Ben.
Welcome to the forum from not so sunny Kempston.
Where abouts is BSKSpeedworks and do you do standard stuff to Ks to keep them on the road?

Ben,

Welcome too......been in Bedford lots of times, always just passing through. Well, not quite, used to go there mountain biking with my son, some lovely places and trails. He now has his own motorbike but still has the mtb as well!!

Always good to have someone who knows their way around a K!.

Just spent a very pleasant hour wasting Ben's time and ogling the fine machinery in his very tidy workshop.
All a credit to you, Ben, and good luck for next season. Somehow, I don't think you'll need it.... Cool

Thanks for the warm welcome!
Didnt know my bike and i were centerfolds! If i had my crash helmet off i fear it might be a diferent story..!
Nice to meet you today "jayseabea", i certainly didnt think i would meet any forum members in person right after i made this post! But its always nice to meet fellow enthusiasts.
If anyone else is local (or not) and interested we are happy to take on repairs/service/modifications to your K.

We stock a selection of performance parts for the K Series that we have developed:
http://www.bskspeedworks.co.uk/k-parts.html

We also have a few used parts available that are listed here:
http://www.bskspeedworks.co.uk/second-hand-alley.html

Below is a picture of our racer and below that a video of it in action on the tight Lydden circuit in Kent.

All the best,

Ben

Great footage! Who'd have thought a flying brick would be all over Jotas and Ducatis. The Jota was pushing it so hard it was squirming all over the shop while the brick looked so planted.
Was the rest of the season's racing as emphatic? Any more footage of the racing?

2012 was our first season racing the K100 and we had 1 win, a few podiums and finished 3rd in the championship. That was with a stock engine and we only had 1 DNF due to me burning the clutch out on the start line.
For 2013 i built a tuned motor with around 120bhp and as you can see below we took 13 wins from 15 starts and no DNF's.
The gearbox failed at the last meeting at cadwell on the friday practice day and i didnt have a spare with me so had to wait for my mrs to bring another form home, hence the DNS for the first race while we fitted it.
The dogs on 2nd gear had worn so it was jumping out of gear, but bearing in mind it was a stock gearbox that i took straight out of a 40k mile bike and had raced for 2 seasons it didnt do bad!
All in all the reliability of the K, even in a higher state of tune, has been fantastic.

Mallory Park has had a few issues with noise complaints and the local council as you may know and nearly closed down but its under new managment now so will be opening again soon. We will be there for testing at some point this season.

Nice to see you adding to our forum, Ben.

I'm from your dad's generation and I do miss the  VOC Cadwell meetings, but it's good to see some younger riders enjoying the delights of K's (and Vincents).

Thanks for posting the video.........well, everybody here is going to love seeing a K win, aren't they?  cheers

Cheers,
Paul.
(Regards to Tim)

Hello from Happy Valley, Bedfordshire UK 177912 Hi Ben !
Very welcome and: congrat's with the beautifull results !
I watched your vid over and over again, can't get enough of that smooth 'take-over', followed by the breakout of the Laverda, due to the attempt of getting his first-position back. You make us all even more proud of being 'K-riders', thank's for that !
Love the smooth look of the bike too, very well done sir ! Complements to the team...

And guess what ? Got me a new wallpaper.... Hello from Happy Valley, Bedfordshire UK 22936

Cheers

Jos

Meeting up is one of the secrets of the forum. Most of us Irish guys have met up and its been great! Keep it up because its always nice to meet for a coffee, a beer or a chat and you never know whats going to happen.

There's Mini racing,  Honda 50 racingand so on...so why not K100 racing. We know the engines are unburstable.....is there any other bike you could seriously think of racing in stock form or take parts from a 40k mile 20 year old bike and run them in a track bike? Keep it up because it might stop some calling the K a pipe and slippers bike...I suppose you can show the field the back of your pipe and soles of your slippers....

A great achievement though.
