I love the scammers that pretend they are from Microsoft, I play as dumb as ans see how long it takes them to hang up. 8 minutes has been the best so far.
I say things like I just use it to play checkers but I better fix it because if my son finds I have got a virus then he wont be very happy so can you help me. You can almost see them on the other end rubbing their hands with glee thinking oh boy have I got a sucker here.

If I feel like wasting my time I keep them on the phone. I have several methods for keeping them on the phone as long as possible playing dumb.  When I eventually get them to the point where they give me a URL to go to, I tell them that I work for Microsoft and that I just emailed our fraud division while talking to them. CLICK!

Then I do a "who is" on their domain and report them to their domain registrar. (Yes, I know they'll just come back with another domain but at least it makes them have to register another domain when the current one gets canned.)

I was told a story by an old mate about what not to do when a scammer rings. He described how he had the hair-brained idea to blow a sports whistle into the mouthpiece of his phone. Laughing as hard as he could as he recounted the tale, he warned the others in the room not to try this, as satisfying as it was for him when he did it. He said that later that night his phone rang and thinking it was an emergency call he answered it only to hear the sharp report of a whistle blowing back into his own ear.

They'll sometimes seek revenge.
