Hi guys I'm new here. Finally thought I should join up. I usually stay clear of forums but from reading through this one as a visitor you guys seem to be good people. Anyway my name is Jake and I ride a k100 cafe racer I built from from a busted up k bike I bought for $500. Not every one has bmw taste in bikes I have always loved them and I'm sure I'm not the only one. Cheers jake

The real Mexicians comes from Victoria. I was once asked what were the best parts of Brisbane and Melbourne. I said the roads leading out of them towards NSW  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy  Very Happy

Here's the latest picture of it. Still have to put on the rear sets and some new tyres among a few other little things before it's complete

She's a beaut!!! You've lost all your electrics and battery. Where d you hide them. Is she race tuned. How many hp... Or is it rp (Roo power) down under. Last thing... Who do we cheer for north or south. I'm a Scots man living in exile ( Nottingham ) so any POME jokes don't apply. I'm thinking I should affiliate myself to who ever has the prettiest sheep!!!!! Probably lost in translation sorry. Lol

Battery and electrics are under the hump behind the seat. Was going to put the relay box there too but was a bit tight for space.

Started it today. Seems to have a knock at around 2000rpm. It didn't when I got the bike and I did remove the alternator during the build I hear the rubber bushes (monkey nuts) can cause this any ideas?

Do a synchronization on the throttles and let it get to operating temperature and see if it is still there.

That is a monster of a machine.
Does the back tyre make the bike bounce when you ride it?
What a tyre. What is it? Not seen one like that before.

Top job.

That muffler has to go.

Tyre is flat. It came with the bike. It hadn't been started in 5 years so it's pretty flat and cracked it's a 140/90-17.

I hope you plan to have a support for the muffler because the way it is it wont be in one piece for long.

Yes I do. The little white tab welded onto the frame under the number 22 on the tail. It will be muffler bracket with a attachment for a side box

Aswell as one if the mounts from the rear sets will assist with that muffler and side bag support. Keeping the side bag small though.

Just thought I had best say something the mufflers are a bit heavy to be swinging in the breeze Very Happy

Hi Blue

Very nice.

Seems like you kept the original plastic casing holding all the indicators etc, but got rid of the big plastic lump with speedo revs etc.

Was this straightforward?

Perhaps you could post a pic of the handlebars, indicator switches etc to see the set up you have?

Regards

Bryan

I like the rear seat, was it an off the shelf purchase or custom built?
