Hello to all from Kilkerrin in Co. Galway, Ireland  Smile  Smile
New to this site. I`ve got a 1988 K75 which I bought with a broken drive shaft . Bike had been parked up for a year so clutch plate was stuck . Sad
Been coming and going to this project for some time but need to get it sorted soon. Smile

Welcome Rip.  Great choice of bike but only because I am biased.   :cyclops:

Sooner rather than later, as I believe the Irish riding season has already started.

Dave.

Welcome Rip . Hope you get her going for one of the Irish eccentric meetings in Aug or Sept. Look under European rides in the forums for details.

Hi Sean,

Welcome and glad you found us. About time we had someone up your way. Anything technical you need will be here but we are also a sociable bunch, from Nova Scotia to Tasmania and everywhere in between.

If you like a spot of camping some of us are planning to meet up at www.norevalleypark.com on Friday 8th August so you have an incentive to get mobile........We usually meet up on the Saturday after the August bank holiday and a few of us make it a camping weekend. Check out the European rides, we became known as the Irish Eccentrics. 88KE and Sagi have K75s.

If that doesn't work we have another weekend up North in September, date to be confirmed. Again some of us make it a camping weekend, fortunately its 250 miles from Cork.

Nice one mate, replace the drive shaft only. Start bike, idle in neutral warm up engine thoroughly, 10 mins, get a mate to push you and engage first gear, idle along straight  click up the gears to third with no clutch, pull in clutch at 20km/hr and blip the throttle full, the clutch will/should break loose instantly 100 ponies, its just a bit of corrosion sticking friction plate. Once free ride normally. this happens with parked up brand new cars. I
did Ireland circuit after TT in 2012 on an R1100RT nice place, loved it, pity about the economy, is it on the mend??
