Hey all

Im looking to purchase some speedo gears for k100 84; my others have lost a few teeth and have disintegrated.

So if anyone knows were i could buy; store (online or otherwise), person, website it would be much appreciated if you could share with me.

I got mine from Richard Smithers (richardws@aapt.net.au)
I had a bit of discussion with him about them, as there is a post here under "Stateside parts suppliers for Seepometer/odometer" (you can search that, gives part numbers but they weren't applicable).
I ordered this lot:-
one with 11/33 teeth
one with 23 teeth
one with 34/40 teeth
one with 16/44 teeth
and the primary with 12 teeth. (I believe that this is the one that gets stripped first, being zeroed whilst in motion does that.)
They all just pull off the shaft, be careful. I managed it so must be easy.
Not cheap though, think it was about 20 bucks a cog.

See "how to" section under "Speedo repair page" by Jim Davis, was pretty easy. (although I printed it all off to have it in front of me).

Hi, just a word re: these speedo gears, i followed up the suggestions and some others. 
  Two referred me to Richard@repairsonly. 
  Speedometergears.com has yet to reply as have some others.
  Odometer gears-bmw, Australian outlet Richard@repairsonly
  Richard@repairsonly was quick with his reply but can only supply a 12tooth & a 16/44tooth.
    I have yet to check the unit to see if i will get away with just these two gears.

Short while ago there was some discussion of clutch cables breaking - Well, mine too, made for an interesting ride home. Not complaining, been working so well it just probably felt neglected.

but it seems that the other gears seem to suffer the worst   mainly the one that connects to the 16- 42 or so it seems

such as the primary one can be easily and cheaply replaced by buying this set from Jaycar. The little green one needs to be trimmed...too fat, whilst you could use the others...minus the big sections and use a bush..total cost $ 8.50
