Welcome Rainer! Start making your plans for Australia as there are plenty of us here (and of a similar vintage to you) to show you around on your travels in our great country.

Some of our Aussie members are travelling to Europe this year and meeting up with forum members over there so it would be great to be able to return the camaraderie for any members coming our way.

Cheers

Welcome to the forum. Everyone is very helpful and its good fun. Lots of help on any problems you may have so never be afraid to ask a question.

If you have done route 66 and are looking to go to Australia you must also come to Ireland for the Wild Atlantic Way.....any time is good but summer is best.

Indian036 is coming from Australia to France and we are meeting him in Dublin about 20th March.

TacKler is coming from Australia to France and we are meeting him in Ireland and going to France with him on 30th May....

Some of us would love sometime to go to Norway......

Welcome, Rainer.

Lots of great things to see in Australia, and as Gaz said, lots of great people here to show you around and share the journey.

Just remember that it is a large place. Some Americans think that they can see Sydney Harbour in the morning and then make a quick trip to the Great Barrier Reef for the afternoon. Its only a 3 day drive! (I'm sure the American K community aren't as silly as some of their countrymen.)

We hope to see you here sometime.

Bill

Hi Rainer welcome to the forum. Make sure to tell when you visit as Gaz80 said we will be only too happy to show you the sights.

P.S. Olaf you can see the whole of Ireland from the top of Newgrange you don't need to stand on top of a Coach Laughing

Ireland is sort of like a saucer, low and flat in the middle and the high bits around the perimeter. Most of the population lives within half an hour of the coast. But Newgrange is not high enough to see all and a lot of coaches don't go to Newgrange......The place to stand is the Hill of Tara.

Hello Olaf

I`m think Ireland is a little bit like Norway, I've never been there, but I have to.
End of May we are going across Germany (keine Autobahn) Eifel, Mosel, Luxembourgian, maybe France?

Norway is very nice from south to north is about 3000km

We are going to France on Saturday May 30th, arrive Roscoff Sunday 31st to La Rochelle for overnight and next day to Limeuil/Rouffignac St Cernin, a little south east of Perigueux. So we should be set up in camp for Monday 1st June.

This is already booked, so far 88KE, TacKler and myself are going. Campsite to be decided but the place we are staying is excellent for some rideouts. We are taking ferry from Cherbourg on Wednesday 10th June.

So, 1st to 8th June we are not so far from a lot of nice places. If you are around Luxembourg and travel south west or so you will come close to us......

There are some forum ex members down there and we will be meeting up with them too. They know the area very well and have shown us some very good places.
