Have a 1990 K100LT and am wondering if there is an after market equivalent to the stock thermostat BMW uses?

I have one. I am using a Toyota 82 deg C thermostat and have been for over 6 months with success. It is getting a bit colder in Sydney and I am thinking of replacing it with a 89C unit, just to see what the effect will be on the highway temperature which now runs around 80C.

it is a Tridon (local brand) TT214-180 and fits Corolla 1983 to 2001 (1.3L to 1.8L). You must get the matching gasket that fits around it.
