Hi riding back from the forgotten highway, very hot for NZ - 30C, my instruments just died, turned off the lights and the instruments came on again but under reading a little. As dusk came I noticed the fuel low light and high beam warning light glowed dimly constantly, turned the lights on and lost all insruments and rode home ok.
I suspect melting wiring again under the tank, I had this not long after i purcheased the bike, sripped the looms and found melted insulation cro firing circuits, I fixed this up and it went well for 2 years, now this. Tank off again, bugger.
When she ran rough last time thought it was plugs, but it ended up being the old bunged up fuel filter, tank off flushed, and ran better than ever with new filter. I'm gettin good at getting that beautiful tank off. just purchased a K1200LT very nice 90000 km, love those Ks

This sounds like you have a insuffient ground connection for the instrument.
The ground connection you find at pin 13 & 18, wiewed from behind the top
right pin is 13, right bottom is 24.

The bad connection can be between the pins and the conductive film inside
the housing, between the pins and contacts in the connector on the rearside
of the housing, or the main ground connection under the fuel tank.
