Parked a 1986 K100 in my garage yesterday.

Is only 15.000 km indicated & service history confirm. In fact global condition of the bike is quite amazing for the age...

Oil change...new tires...( they are new with 10 years)...but...need to change...

made 100 km...feel steady steel...very confy very stable and Enjoy it alot.

In cold condition with small revs...heard a noise like something loose inside engine...

besides that...is very fine & nice....

Go to Portal page on the header and find " You just bought a K100 etc...."

If you haven't already, good information there.

At 15,000 kms should be sound mechanically.

Welcome Busas!  What a surprising find! Your moto must have been on display somewhere to survive so long with such little use.  I hope you can post some photos of your new/old moto.

Pretty sure that's just the counterbalancing mechanism from the crank>driveshaft. It makes a clacking sound at low revs especially when taking off in first gear.

Not often a bike at almost 30 years old has such low kms.
Nice find.

A bike or any piece of machinery of that age with little work can be a big trap. The actual mechanicals can be very good
but the seals and gaskets can cause a lot of trouble. Due to little use they get very dry and hard and often fail after only a few months work. They can and usually are a worthwhile buy but always bear in mind that the maintenance bill is going to be high for the first few months.
