Hi All.

Ummm, wanted to remove my pannier last night for clean up, but for the life of me I cant get the forward facing pannier latch loose.  Any clever ideas here.  I tried some force, but with the pannier box starting to flex I thought better off it.  I see that the latch is held in place by rivets, but is there another way of getting it loose, without drilling out rivets.  I have jiggled and wiggled that thing as well. Thanks in advance.

Pic of offending latch.

The small rectangular bit will reveal a key slot.

A wise owner would have that locked.......they have been known to open and pannier fall off.....Those one are the same ones as were on my RT when it came. Except they were broken and I had to replace those two locks. If in doubt get new ones because they rely on clipping over a couple or aluminium lumps that wear. They are the only thing stopping the pannier falling off. Also replace the plastic hinges, they split......

That is the older type as far as K bikes go, though not the 'suitcase latch' of very early Airhead Krauser-type bags.

Glad to know it was a simple 'fix'.
