I have a broken battery mount, it should be bolted to the gearbox somehow, the mounting points are there but the caps don't have anywhere for the mount to be secured. Can someone show me a way around this?  The Vibrations are causing the battery to shake loose.

Please post some photos of your situation.

The description says that the anti-vibration rubbers have de-bonded from the end caps. It's not an easy fix; the gearbox has to come out.

1. The hopefully easy way. Cut a slot across the top of the button, get lots of heat into it and hit it with an impact driver. Chances are that it won't work because the cap will be well corroded into the gearbox.

2. Centre-punch the cap and put a 5.0 mm drill down through it. The hole has to be drilled absolutely perpendicular to the gearbox (which is why you have to take the gearbox out) because you're trying to just remove the remains of the anti-vibration rubber thread. You'll then need to helicoil the hole back to 6mm (the helicoil drill is about 6.4mm IIRC, so it will clean the remains of the threads out). If it's the mounting point that's front-right when you're sat on the bike there's an additional problem in that the other three go right through the gearbox, but this one is a blind hole about 6mm deep.

3. If the helicoil idea is no good because the drill has gone off-centre, you can take the holes out to an 8mm thread. That front-right one will be a complete PITA. I ended up grinding a 2nd-cut (bottoming) 8mm tap completely flat to get the most threads possible into that small space.

4. If it's only one anti-vibration mount that has de-bonded, stick a big lump of solid rubber under that corner of the battery tray and ignore it.

This reminded me of this thread https://www.k100-forum.com/t11040-battery-holder . It depends on what has happened. In my case, the thread had been flattened in the holes in the gearbox, and so I purchased bobbins from RS components which had longer threads, as there was still thread in the holes. I had to cut the ends off the threads that went through the battery holder, but it was a $20 fix, so I was happy.

I will try to remove the broken mounts, I have some foldable rubber glue, I might try to build app the tow missing rubber mounts then use screws to mount the box. When I get to the garage, I will get some pictures.

I was able to remove them by heating the gearbox casing near the mount and gripping the mount with Vise Grips to unscrew it.  A few taps with a hammer helped loosen them.

looks like the rubber parts have gone missing

vice grips might work at unscrewing the base and shaft from the gearbox

else a cold chisel angled at a good angle would bit into the plate that retains the rubber section and get them moving with a firm thump with the proverbial fbh …(frigging big hammer )

I bought some bungs on eBay and used some rubber glue, I glued them to the missing points and then used some screws to mount the battery cage. I have reassembled and am waiting for the glue to cure. It seems to be sturdy so I will leave it for now, I have replacement mounting rubbers incase the fix does not work.

If you have a punch you might be able to get the remaining bases to start turning. Once, they start turning you should be able to spin them the rest of the way out with your fingers.

Vise-Grips work. Done it many times on old transmissions. You just need to get them really flat on the surface to get some bite on the rim of the remaining part of the mount.
