Hey Guys,

I just installed an Acewell 2853 on my 93 K1100. I also replaced the main and Motronic wiring harnesses. Since I have had the bike it has only turned over, but hasn't run. The previous owner discussed some electrical issues with me. I' ready to start getting the bike to run, but I don't hear the fuel pump kick on when I put the bike in the run position (I also have to have the clutch pulled in when I turn it over due to the Acewell). Fuses look good, but I can't seem to get the fuel pump going. I tested it with a 12V battery and it does work fine off the bike with an outside power source. Any advice/pointers on where to start looking? Thanks guys!!

Christian

I have also removed the ABS controller and system. Would that impact the fuel pump circuit in any way?

Is the sidestand switch present?
If not, is the connector shorted?

Side stand switch is there but it looks like the wire to it is broken. I can see a G/Y and G/R wire coming from the switch, but the wires look like they got caught up in something. Good call thanks! How to proceed?

Repair the wires, if you like to have the sidestand switch function.

If not, splice the wires together..........but don't blame me if you run off the road...cause the sidestand was down.

I did spend some weeks at the hospital due to this........
in the time before the sidestand switches, and self retracting sidestands was invented.

Sorry for the rookie question here, but where do the wires plug into the wiring harness?

Thanks for the pointer I think I will avoid the hospital and keep the functionality!!

The connector you find behind the RHS battery cover,
tied to the top frame tube.

Good luck! Very Happy

The connector looks like this (for bypassing the switch):

Get the battery fully charged before any more starting attempts,
so you don't weld the starter relay contacts.

Will do. I'm getting the occasional pop and sign of life from the bike coming from the exhaust, but then eventually I get a louder pop/hiss noise coming from the forward most fuel injector. I replaced all the spark plugs today to see if that would help but nothing yet. Injectors could be dirty? I'll keep working at it....not sure if my battery is toast.
