My name is Jim and I live in Lisburn in Northern Ireland. When I was younger (in 1985) I bought a K75 which I loved and adored for about 5 years until the kids came along and the bike was sacrificed for a second car.

Two years ago I bought a 1987 k100rt. She was white in colour, was well maintained and in a pretty decent condition. The bike was first registered in the UK on 1st June 1987.

Last summer my wife and I took her down to Rosslaire got the ferry to Roscoff and spent the next 10 days meandering down the west coast of france then the east coast of Spain to Cartagena. The bike took the journey down and the full speed dash home in her stride and without a single problem.

In the past two years we have had her all over Ireland and Scotland. I stripped her down in January gave her a full service and repainted her black. The "new" shiny black brick had it's first outing last weekend!

Welcome to the forum. There are plenty of riders in your neck of the woods and all the help you could ever need here.

Great to have you along Jim. I look forward to you posting some before'n'after pics of your renovation, maybe some of the continental bash too! Here's how.

Some of us on the Forum (including your near neighbours) are planning a Patrick's weekend ride on the Saturday around the Boyne Valley area if your up for it. Would be a great chance to meet some fellow brick riders.

Welcome to the forum, Jim.
Hope to see you next Saturday for the next gathering of the Irish Eccentrics.
Plan is to maybe have a run up the Boyne Valley and you can get a chance to meet some of the rest of the group. I believe you might be coming down with Gerard so maybe see you then.

Welcome from soggy southern Australia. Hope you guys all have a hearty St Patricks weekend, there are a lot of us here who claim to be forced emigrants from your part of the world. How lucky can we be.
Cheers RT
