I've been offered an '84 K100 in silver with 56k miles and wondered what thoughts you all have. Down Olaf!
It's original with the correct cowling around the headlight and radiator and Comfort seat. No panniers unfortunately. But the K16 has!
My thoughts are that the first K100 could be the more collectible as genuine, unmolested ones seem to be rare.
My plan is to bring back to a nice clean original over the winter.
He was going to 'cafe racer' it!
Was looking for £850 which he said was what he paid. I had said it was a bit rich for me (still a K owner) and he has dropped to £700.
Haven't been to see it yet, only a photo emailed.
Would like to get it down a bit more though.

Go for it.

Period.

Its a nice job for the winter.

Panniers and rails can easily be got. Don't ask me how I know. Ask 88KE!!

Good luck with it.

Is that short enough?

Olaf.

The cold of Winter will soon enough be upon us (those in the northern hemisphere, at least) and what better way to while away the time than to be spannering on a K bike in the shed with a glass of single malt to hand, some tinkling music on the speaker, and the snow softly falling outside? All in preparation for Springtime! Grab it.

Have run into a problem.
Rang the guy to go and have a proper look at it and he remembered to tell me that he had already started to cafe racer it!
Nothing serious but the front end is out.
He offered to put it back together for me but not sure about that.
Told him to get in touch if he does and we can have a chat.
Ho hum.
I'll keep looking.
Nearly bought a K100RS for £500 last Friday. Was just beaten to it.

How about get him to put it back together?? Then you have your K and you will know the front end will come out easily. Doint the head bearings on my L T caused a lot of gried because the stanchions wouldn't come out. At least yours will be fresh.

We hate to see you K less.

See you on 19th!!

For two Wheels Better: in Ireland we can and do ride all year round. No parking up for the winter and sitting in a workshop polishing chrome and sucking cold beer by the woodburner while dreaming of the balmy days of spring. I know its sad that we miss out on that but. . . .

Olaf

Like Olaf said.

Get the front end put back together and assess the completeness of the bike.
