I need to replace my voltage regulator and I ordered one online, but it's going to take a week to get here.

Does anybody know a trick to get one in a part store, so I don't have to wait? Maybe for a specific car that they would carry regularly? Looks like this is a part that they used in literately thousands of vehicles, European cars and even John Deere. I tried but no luck asking for the Bosch number.

Thanks in advance.

From what I can work out it's interchangeable with HELLA / 5DR 004 241-157
You'll see our BMW oem part #12311459286 in the list. Another parts sub site also cross references this.
There's Ford, GM and VW parts listed so try your local dealers. On another site I saw mentioned Ford Escort.

Also compare here

If you find something make sure you compare electrical specs with the original you have.

Thanks, I did find all the interchangeable parts as well, unfortunately it doesn't help sourcing it locally. It doesn't really matter I guess. The worst case scenario is that it gets here by next week. I am just getting impatient. Every time I think it's all done, something else pops up.

I didn't think of that. I was hoping to find a new part considering it's pretty cheap. Thanks for the tip though! Very Happy

I appreciate it, but the ebay guy is putting it in the mail today so it should get here pretty soon. (plus I only paid 15 bucks including shipping for the Bosch part)
