I'm replacing the boot on the clutch actuator, as the old one has degraded to the point of the top of it is all but gone.

Ordered, received the new one. Cleaned all the grease, muck, etc and remove the old boot. Here's where I am confused. How do I install it in relation to the actuator arm? Since the 'top' of the old one was gone I've no empirical reference point. All the diagrams seem to show it mounted to the lever arm, but I can't figure it out.

I'll throw some pictures up shortly.

Are there missing part/s? This is just me offering it up. There's nothing keeping it on the lever, just the transmission itself via the circular clamp

It should be a spring present behind the piston which pushing the boot against the lever.

Thank you Inge. That's what I was hoping to be the case. Pressure from that spring plus the opposing pressure from the lever when it has the clutch cable mounted and adjusted properly, right?

Thanks again,

Here is how it looks like with parts correct mounted (arm in resting position).

....and if it's not properly adjusted it would start to leak..... when the angle between the piston and the spring seat in the boot gets to big, and pressure from the spring gets uneven that is.

I put a new one on my K75 a year ago and made a video of it. It shows the new boot installed and lubrication of the transmission and drive shaft splines. It's at:

Hope it helps.
