Welcome from Idaho, Dirtydr.  I too have a DR -- a DR-Z 400S!  Unfortunately, it hasn't been dirty for a good while.  Will this snow ever cease?

In a word - awesome! 

Just love the pictures of the rigs in the snow. I suspect though that being an outfit, you can fit proper winter tyres to it. 

I have been looking for winter bike tyres, but (in the UK) there just doesn't seem to be the market for them and the closest we get is a pseudo-year round wet and cold tyre instead.
