Hi everyone out there

I have been going through all the threads and websites etc etc over the last few years and have a reasonable idea re options regarding K Series clocks and gear indicators.

Do you think there would be interest in LCD panels if they were available at a reasonable price?
The physical process of dismantling a speedo and getting to these parts is not actually all that difficult...

Any comments or thoughts?

regards

Being as how it seems that LCD displays eventually lose contrast and that the displays in our bikes are 30+ years old, I could see a need for replacements some time in the future.  So far, mine are still working.

I think there would be an interest, but not sure the demand would make it worth while.

I guess it depends somewhat on what a reasonable price is. I don't need them at the moment but I would love to have them on the shelf for the future. There is one set.

I'd be in for both clock and GPI. I have to dismantle my instruments anyway for an odometer repair at some stage, and if I could replace those screens at the same time it would be good. Do we have a potential time frame?

Depends a lot on whether the price is comparable to the secondhand ones that are around.
Regards Martin.

I wouldn't view it as a reliable income stream given the innate parsimony of the riders I've met but it would be a service to other riders that could be enjoyable for you if it made profit enough for dining out occasionally during the pandemic. Smile
