The number on the "Color Code" sticker is actually a color scheme that includes things like pinstripes and who knows what else.

There are places where you decode the code to get the actual color number.

That may or may not help you since not many paint manufacturers bother with formulas for motorcycle paint.  If you do a search, you will find sites that specialize in motorcycle paint that will be able to sell you a proper color match.

I have found that if you don't need one of the tricoat paints that BMW used, you can get a pretty decent match by taking a part to an automotive paint store.  Most of them now have color matching systems that can get very good matches.

The problem is that BMW for some reason doesn't share much color information with aftermarket paint manufacturers.  Probably due to some sort of agreement with BASF who provides the factory paint systems.  I was lucky to get the formula for Pearlmut Silber.  It was only because I do a fair bit of business with my local paint guy and I came in at a time when they were slow that two guys were able to spend almost 45 minutes searching their data bases to find it.

A lot of colors fade or yellow over time. I've had to bring paint back to have it adjusted for fade.  It's especially bad with reds and some whites.

It's always wise to bring a part to compare what they mix.
