Have had my '85 K100RT for several years.  It generally runs too hot for Texas so I hauled it to the summer digs in Ohio.
It did not wake up from the winter very well and I'm still trying to troubleshoot.

Bricklayer wrote:Howdy, I moved to NEO also with a TX K100. I recommend an AGM battery and appropriate charger designed for AGMs, staying away from gasoline with alcohol, and an annual use of Seafoam (best price at Marc's)  added to the fuel tank. Use up that Seafoam laced fuel before doing an oil change. If the bike sits and the piston rings get dry, try spraying a mist of motor oil into the spark plug holes to make starting easier.

P.S. Do you have the original ignition coils from '85. They have a tendency to malfunction, mine worked until warm then went haywire. Test the coils... saves a lot of frustration.
Welcome from Western New York!

Excellent advice above.
