Hi, I have just bought  a1984 K100RS, the colour scheme is of motorsport type - pearl white base with blue purple red stripes. Not like the 87 ltd edition more similar to the Dakar GS paint.
I can't find anything anywhere relating to this paint scheme.
It looks factory ? Does anyone know if this was an original paint scheme, if it's unusual or something it may become a deciding factor in what I do to the bike.

Thanks, I've had a look through, the only similar paint is on the Dakar GS.
I've searched the web and can't find anything like it. Perhaps someone had it done.

Those are BMW Motorsport colors. The same colors are used in the motorcycle division. See logo in upper left corner.

I can't find a precise match, just two that are almost there. If the paint's in good condition, I'd keep it because it suits the bike.

I do kinda like it 😄 just trying to ascertain if BMW put it on there 👍 as can't find a picture of another.

My volume's cover is only a b/w US version and doesn't have those fancy renditions. Paint schemes 177381

Looks like the 1984 Nick Jeffries Isle of Man TT K100RS. Google informs that the Jeffries dealership created 2 commemorative paint replicas. Paint by Dream Machine (who were top quality back then) so it could well seem factory.
Good luck - fingers crossed - that you've found one of those bikes.

I have some photos of those bikes buried somewhere. And one of it airborne. I have also some memory of Dream Machine so you are on the ball.

Had me all excited lol.
Checked these bikes out and they are both accounted for. Paintwork is different too
Most likely someone had Thier own version painted professionally at an early stage.
I was going down the brat / cafe route due to the overall condition, I might try to keep the paint if possible.
