I would like to service/replace (I have a new one) the clutch cable felt. Where does this actually reside, in the lever? Do I have to release cable tension and then remove the lever to get it out? What do you guys lubricate this with?

Hollister provided an excellent photo of the felt ring's location in this post. I lubricate the clutch hand lever barrel a few times per season; the felt ring I haven't lubricated. It has 40,000 miles on it so far.

About once a week or when I am about I put a few drops of oil on the lever nipple on the Ks. That and check tyre pressures so they are ready to go.

Absolutely!  

I keep a small oil can near the parked bike so it's close at hand when I am getting ready to go out.  Same with the air hose with the inflator/gauge attached and a small flashlight to check the oil level.
