Are there any advantages or disadvantages to the plastic version (the only one currently available from the dealer)? I'm currently working on the engine, the cost is not high, so I wanted to clean it, or maybe it would be better to replace it?

The old version has larger holes in the mesh:
Oil Pump Strainer S-l1600

the newer version:
Oil Pump Strainer KPump-Strainer597-2

Part number:

The Big Block conversion has the plastic version installed (be sure to replace the o-ring if it's not included - 11 41 1 460 403) and has been humming for eight years now.
