I just recently found & bought a 1988 K100RT in very good condition. Well it really found me! The previous owner had loved and cared for it extremely well and now I will beneficiary of all his hard work, Thanks Dennis. I am excited about learning all about the German engineering and Dennis has even offered to guide me though the learning curve, I am a compete newbie! Nevertheless, I know a good thing when I see it, so it wasn’t hard to make the decision to start up a relationship with this great bike. Hello from Tasmania, Australia 2854237993

Hi Rob,
Great to have you on board, now the fun starts, go through every electrical connection treating them with the DeoxIT from Jaycar (get the two bottles of liquid with a small brush in each they look like nail varnish bottles)

Then go through the bike changing all fluids and filters to return the bike to as close to as it rolled out the factory as possible. That way you have established a base line that has everything at standard. I have seen some beutifully cleaned and polished bikes with awful oil because the owners were only concerned with appearance.
Regards,
K-BIKE

Welcome to the forum, Rob. Congrats on getting Dennis' bike too! You're a lucky man to have found a well-cared for K that's all ready to go. Bonus that he mentioned to you about the not-so secret Crazy Frog's forum as a source of information too. We value new members for their input and 'cause it allows us to spread the word. No secret handshake required. About that Deoxit stuff...get some, it works. Cheers!

Hi Rob

Don't I know you?

This is a great forum, have used it to research the purchase of K bike, and finally taken the plunge.

After selling my yamaha Xj seca a few days ago, this allowed me to go ahead and inspect a local bike that has been for sale for a while now. any how to cut it short it's now in my gararge waiting to have the once over and go from there.
