Hi all.

I have a 1991 K100RS 16v and need to change the headlight as the bike is migrating from the UK to beautiful France and so I need to fit a right dipping headlight. There are a few on french fleabay but can anyone advise me if the lights are the same in any of the other models. I have been offered one from an RT but until I have dismantled the headlight I won't knw wexactly what it looks like.

Thanks

Dunney

I have an aftermarket fairing and lights on my KRS so can't help there, but found that the KRT I refurbed and sold this year had a stock removeable lens, and my understanding is that is the only part that needs changing, not the entire assembly.

ETK lists the French reflector as standard. Australia has 2 different types (maybe because they ride upside down and on the wrong side of the road Headlight advice please 44271 ). I believe ETK has a 'National Version France" listing only because of the yellow H4 bulb used in the 80s.

Here is a detail from the ETK. For information, the cost of the reflector alone is $177 here in Canada. NOT Cheap!

Looks like the reflector is a bit different too with a cutout in front of the bulb.

pls have a look at realoem

parts no 63122305350

to be used in: all plastic K - Models except UK and down under

use e-bay and that´s it
I´d carefully check the reflector - often the chrome and therfore the lightquality is poor after the decades

Thanks alot guys. The International nature of this forum means that you can post suff up, go to bed and when you get up the answers are there. The French version is probably because the French like to be different. They have some very obscue traffic laws that they stick with despite the potential consequences, like giving way to traffc coming from the right unless a junction is otherwise marked. The yeloow light thing was at least phased out in the 70s thank the lord.

Because we drive on the correct side of the road.
Well I suppose it's not too bad in Europe at least they all drive on the wrong side.

They tried to change on which side of the road they drive.
In stead of imposing a drastic change, DOT opted for a one month gradual adaptation period.
The odd days, passenger cars would drive on the left side, and the even days, it would be the turn of the trucks to switch side.
After a day and 10,000 crashes, they abandoned the projects. Headlight advice please 44271
