Had a great ride back from Bingara.
about 550 KMs at approx 110-140KMH through some twisties and some boring straights....did not miss a beat.
Went for a ride this morning and got about 6-7KM's and the idiot overheat light went on...I had just sat at some lights and it was 32 degrees plus so rode on a little hoping to see the temp reduce on the gauge.
then I heard a pop the coolant reservoir lid blew off and there was steam and fog everywhere....and some white muck that could only have been oil in a previous life.
Now there is white scum in the bright green coolant, but no water in the oil...in fact the oil is a little lower than usual ( but the fast long range run could be to blame for that).
Bike seems to run fine and the fan goes on and off but where did the oil come from???
head gasket?
Oil/water pump seal?
The guy at the BMW shop said he had never sold a head gasket in years....mmmmm suggestions??
