Hi, I've bought my first grown-up bike. It's a 11/1987 built K100 Basic2. It's a Japanese market bike that came to Australia in 2006. The compliance plate describes it as a K100CJ. I was a late starter to riding - did my L's & P's on a KTM 400GS a couple of years ago.

Welcome Basic2.
I really like the lines of the Basic2 bike. Much more sorted out around the headlight / instruments than the original naked model.
I know that converting to the newer style plastics is not a cheap exercise.
Not many of them around here and I know the forum will offer plenty of advise to help you maintain it.

Love some pics when you can.

Cheers,

Thanks Dee Why.

I haven't seen any other Series 2 Basic's in the flesh.

Not sure what the CJ designation is, it may have been a Japanese market only version.

CJ:
C is a C model (naked one)
J is certainly for Japanese market.

Welcome Basic2.
Your bike which is quite unique among the mutiple RS/RTs found on this forum.

Picture of the bike.
It's had a sheltered life. Was indicating 21k km's when I bought it. Replaced the fan, air filter & fuel lines last weekend. Fairly easy to do, no fairing to remove!

Keep it genuine, only 1322 was made.
For comparison, 34804 K100RS 2V was produced.

Thanks, yes it's a bit rare Smile Was a lucky find. Very happy with it. I don't think there was much price difference between the basic/2 & the RS when new so most went for the RS.

Where abouts in Sydney are you B2?

I was just thinking if you plan on doing any more work to the bike I could maybe give you a few pointers.
Maybe clear up the shed after. Get rid of any 'extra' parts I did not think you needed.
