Was looking at the great photo of lazyboy's RT and now I'm wondering about the finish on the engine covers of the early models.
My LT had, of course, the satin black paint but the covers on my '84 RT have no paint and have been polished up. Great therapy with the Solvol Autosol on a cold, dark winter's night but was curious if the earlier models were painted or had a matt alloy finish.

Comberjohn, I've moved your post to Engine and Transmission as it could get lost in Member's Intro.

Here's a picture from the Nov '83 catalogue, plain alloy covers but lower engine, oil pan and water pump painted black. The same for RS, RT and naked.
