I want to clean my injectors, but not in a workshop (too much money). I was told years ago to use Toyoto Injector Clean in a full tank of fuel.

Any thoughts on the subject.

I think there is no substitute for taking it apart...not so sure additives work at all...

Many owners recommend Techron Fuel Additive (probably similar to Toyota Injector Cleaner) be used regularly to keep injectors clean. This may work as a preventive measure over time to keep deposits at bay, but it is not a substitute for injector reconditioning for neglected injectors. That process involves removing the injectors from the engine and sending them in for a refurbishment. Alternatively, you could do a pretty god job of cleaning the injectors yourself using simple tools. See the thread entitled Cleaning Fuel Injectors.

Try injector cleaner first, follow the instructions and then drive it like you stole it Very Happy. If that doesn't work take them out and follow the cleaning instructions on the forum.

Oh No!

+1 on the add it to the fuel and then if no luck get them cleaned professionally.

I was told it would cost about $20 to ship injectors from Australia to the US and it could take a few weeks. If during the off season any of the members from outside the US and Canada want their injectors professionally cleaned I will discount it to help cover some of the shipping cost. It would be better is a group sent them in together. I normally get $15 per injector. I will reduce it for you guys to $11 to help with shipping cost. Also if replacement parts are too expensive to get locally for the do it yourselfers. I can ship parts there. I am sure I can save you guys on the cost of parts.
