Holy cow - no snow and a temperature above freezing. Time for a shake down run. Since I last rode more than a mile I've done a fair bit of work on her:

New (s/h) front discs and new pads
Stripped down rear caliper
Adjustable brake lever
s/h OEM heated grips
Recovered the seat
Replaced the oil/water pump seals
Replaced rear brake pedal
Fresh lovely green coolant (and a little water wetter - what the hell eh K-BIKE!)
.....and some other stuff I've forgotten about!

Also trying out my new tank bag - already had Kriega bags and just got the tank pad adaptor for it - £20 new. It fits on the frame with loops at the front and velco under the seat on the tank. Good kit; properly waterproof and cheaper than a new tank bag.

ALL GOOD; running like a dream - roll on spring Very Happy

Cheers
Dave

Looks like you are in a similar climate to New England (USA)
Our temps went up to 60F last week. By the time I got home from work it was 32F.
I still went out for a blast to the gas station, and back(9mi)
I did get a comment at the station (How's the bike treating you?)
I got my K100 12/2/12.
I like your paint scheme.
Cheers
Art

Hi Art,

Yes it fluctuates a fair bit through the winter. 32 is about zero celsius right? Too cold for me - I get ice fear around there! Yeah here today was maybe 8 Celsius (45 ish fahrenheit) which was great. Thanks, I've an admission the paint job is just 'M' colour stickers - but hey same effect. Hope you continue to enjoy your bike! Very Happy

Cheers
Dave

I too enjoyed a short ride yesterday, as the temperature made it up into the mid-40s. What a joy it was to see blue sky, sunshine and ice-free roads! January was not a month for motorcyclists around here. I'm hoping that February will be kinder. Smile

Hi 88, no clock photos I'm afraid mate! Although it was warmer than recently I wasn't hanging around!Yeah snow on the hills and more tonight actually. El Cheapo temp gauge worked a treat; would reccomend it. Yeah if I'm not careful my 'to do' list will be done - either that or I'll be declared bankrupt/divorced/disowned by my children Wink

Maybe I need a K75 or even a K1 in my life.

Great minds think alike Dave! I went for a Sunday morning spin myself and there was a definite touch of spring in the cool air...

This is forum member Trapper's home turf but there was no K1 around, he had more sense and went to the Motorbike show in Dublin. I had only the morning so I spun on down to Roslare Europort, Gateway to the continent....

Hey Charlie, yeah I was forgetting those spectacular pictures you put of of the flooding. Pretty extreme. I remember reading about the long cycles I think it was in 'The Dig Tree' some poor souls finding out the water holes were dry for the first time in X years while trying to traverse the continent.
Here's fingers crossed for a good winter
Cheers
Dave

It still stuns me when I see an RS and realize they as old as 20 + years old. They still look better than a lot of bikes on the road.

Just bought my K RT late last year, even though it will no longer be a RT it still has wonderful lines for a bike built in 1985.
