I have been scouring the previous posts here looking for info.
My tyres are coming up for a change.
I see good things written about the Avons but wonder if any on here feel the same.
other options are Pirelli Sport Demon and Michelin Pilot Activ?

And I have them on my K100RS 8V and can't fault them and so far very good mileage (they were on the bike when I bought it and must have at least 10000 miles on them.

G'day DeRodster
I used the Roadriders on my K100rs and they gave great mileage , If you go on the Avon web site they don't recommend Roadriders on the K1100lt as they need a higher rated tyre. I did try Roadriders on my K1100 and the rear tyre started to split along the centre groove so I replaced them with Avon Azuro  tyres. Much better.

Howrya Smithy,
Thanks for the reply. Yea I had a look on the Avon site and I see what you mean,
No worries there's a couple of others to choose from, and the Pirelli site showed up a couple too.
So now to decide how each would fare in a wettish (we do see the sun sometimes ;-)) climate.
I never thought of the weight thing being an issue so just as well I copped that in another post.
We live and learn.

I don't get it...the beemer is not that tubby....consider if any other bike is two up or carrying more than a single rider....I think the tyre is just dodgy..certainly a particular batch at any rate...

I had the some line of thinking as you Klompy, That's why I fitted the roadriders to the K1100.
And when the rear tyre started to separate I did get a warranty from Procycles (reluctantly) the supplier of Avon tyres in Australia. But they made it clear that they shouldn't be fitted to the K1100 and that It should have radials not cross ply tyre.

I have used Avon tyres for 25 years on my Harleys with full confidence. When riding BMW bikes I had not used them until recently I got a K75RT with them on already. They seem excellent and most importantly in the British climate they inspire confidence in the wet.
