I am in the process of stripping down my 8valve K100 engine.

When I removed the fuel rail from the head the fuel injectors remained in the head rather than coming away with the rail. It then took quite alot of 'coaxing' to get each of them out of the head. In fact, when I pulled the injectors out of the head the rubber O ring and cream plastic cap were left behind. The Haynes manual suggests it should all come out together!

Can I just push the plastic caps back on and replace O rings? Or, now that the caps have come off, do I need new injectors?

Thanks

Chris

hi chris if ur still looking at this post the injector caps ur talking about are replace in a injector sevice, my advice would be carfully pull the caps out of ur head and threow em over ur sholder injectors can be cleaned tested and have new caps and o-rings fitted at a decent car mechanic shop, for arround 25 bucks each, they will be able to tell u how much they flowed if they leaked and there crack pressure, and what type of spray pattern there producing. i belive k100 injectors flow about 40 mls. ford injector are a good sub i belive, and have a better spray pattern than the origi ones.

Chris,
Alternative injector for two valve per cylinder K bikes is part number BWB 57500 from Borg Warner. It replaces our injector, this injector also fits the 1982/87 Renault 1.4 litre engines.

These are much cheaper than BMW.

But as Alex Piton says, they can be refurbished at an even less cost
