Hi from Rawdon Quebec

67 year old need to get my K75RT (1990) back on the road.

It's been sitting over 10 years, I think I might start with the fuel system?

Hope to chat with you soon

Regards, Lorne

Hi Lorne welcome to our madhouse

Best advice about a K that has been sitting for some time is to check all of the rubber bits paying particular attention to the inards of the fuel tank, brakes and oil seals. These will be one of the things that give trouble if not attended to and change all the fluids.
If you go to the portal page you will find a link to a site about what to do if you have just bought a BMW, it's a good read with heaps of good onfo.

Just a word of caution for the sake of your wallet. Don't buy any genuine BMW parts as most are available heaps cheaper from aftermarket sources or we have found OEM parts at much better prices.
Ask and we shall tell.

Yes Rick, I know BMW parts are crazy $$$ - problem here in Canada is shipping from USA, often shipping is more than the part... & the politicos said we had 'free trade' - ouch my as**ole is hurting LOL

It's going to be fun though - thanks for your help

Cheers, Lorne

Welcome to the forum Lorne from a fellow 1990 K75 owner. Mine was also parked up for 3-4 years by the previous owner and is an in-progress project being ridden in between patches of enthusiasm for completing work on it. Has been on the road now for 18 months and done 14,000 kms in that time.

I guess we love all of our toys but the K75 is a bit special.

Cheers! Have fun.
