Hi all.

My throttle bodies bing number 95/34/401 are worn out.

I have spare set that I got few years ago in a job lot of parts, but the bing number stamped on them is 95/34/403. Does anyone know if these would work? What do the differences in the part number mean?

They look the same

The bike is k100rs 1987.

Look up the part numbers on realoem.com and you will see what they were fitted to.

Yea I looked at part no. on fiche, but the only number I can see is the bing number not a bmw part number. 

It's a weird one I have to admit as most seem to be the 1st no. I posted.

95/34/401 
type/size/model

Type 95 were used on the K-series.
Size 34 is the internal dia of the TB. They were also made in 38mm which I'm guessing were used on the 1100 maybe.
Models should be interchangeable. I'd guess the 403 is a later version.

I guess as you say the 403 later version. They are in good condition, compared to old ones which are corroded badly.

I will put them on. I looked on parts fiche and part number for 8 v k100 appear same.

If I get any issues I will let you know.

i think the 8v k100 tb's meassure 33mm internal dia .
the 16v k100/k1100 tb's meassure 35mm internal dia
and finally the 38 mm is for the k1200

If you can get K1100 TBs then fit those instead of replacing the OEM K100 TBs. Advance the timing by six degrees and you have a whole new herd of low-down horses. On a back-to-back test it makes a standard K100 feel like a hungover slug. Well, maybe not that bad but there is a distinct difference between the modified and non-modified bikes.

I had 1100 TB's on a 1000 8v and they worked just fine. I've got 1200 TB's on an 1100 and they work great too.
They all seem to work well choose which set you fit.
Advancing the ignition timing IS well worth the effort-it's worked every time for me. Don't be afraid to experiment, the worst case scenario is you swap some parts back again and all you've lost is a little bit of enjoyable fettling time. Win-win situation!
