Will the seat and tail section of a K1100 fit a K100 frame?

EDIT: And will the early K100 seat (with handles on seat) fit onto the later K100 tail sections (with handles on tail) if you remove the handles from the seat?

Part answer... pre 85 seat, with handles (even if handles removed) will not fit with tail of post 85. The tank, seat, footpegs tail are all different.

No, the K1100 has pins protruding from the tail piece to clip the sidecovers onto where the K100 has the pins on the sidecover.

How about an 1100 seat on a post 85 100?

You can just break the pins off of the K1100 tail and drill holes.

The black rear fender/license holder mounts differently though which may or may not be an issue.
