Nice motors though, I presume she has the stacked headlights too for US spec? My dad had one, an SE, I still have the manuals and books from it but the car is long gone. My first time seeing 100mph happened on a trip in that car. Havana Brown. Nice 6 pot engine in them too.

They’re very smooth. This one is in need of love so I’m keeping my eyes open for a later 240 motor that has a stronger bottom end and a bit more grunt. We actually have a set of the euro headlights for it, that stacked American ones are hideous. This was the day we brought it home.

The 220 is a 6 pot. I thought the 240 is a 4 pot and regarded as agricultural, but they did have a 230 [6] in some markets [Europe] so straight change although 230 [bored out 220?] is more likely fuel injected and 300 [6] from the 300SE is fuel injected. I think the 280 from the coupes fit too as they came in 220 and 280. The manual I have is 220SEb

2,195 cc (2.2 L) M127 I6
2,306 cc (2.3 L) M180 I6
2,496 cc (2.5 L) M129 I6
2,778 cc (2.8 L) M130 I6
2,996 cc (3.0 L) M189 I6
3,499 cc (3.5 L) M116 V8
