Welcome to the forum! I'm Bill Farnham in central Mississippi (Sontag). These guy can help you like they did me. They helped me resurrect my K1100LT and I'm the only BMW around here. Hope to meet you one day.

Hey GR.
I’m about the same distance in the other direction, near Dothan AL. Just talked to a gout in his 70’s, getting out of riding. But did a lot of BMW meets along the way.

Hi Guys!   ....Thanks for the greetings.     I'm over near the Texas state line and likely won't ride out very far, but might trailer to a meet.

....I had a K75S back in the '90s and always wanted the extra torque available on the K100. ..The K75 didn't double well.    ....When I recently ran across a well preserved K100RT, I pulled the trigger.   ....It amazes me that it is so much more bike, with only a slight weight disadvantage. ....It's even the exact same colors as the K75 I had, and both were 1987 models.   ....I'm approaching those years when I will have to make some serious choices on my activities, and I hope to enjoy this bike until that time comes.
