Put a new rear tyre on so lubed shaft splines as usual. The previous application of moly looked to be carry more moisture than I’ve seen before, was a thick slime rather than the normal paste consistency. I’m going to redo it, (degrease  the shaft splines completely and do the best I can with the counterpart fitments, then re-moly.

I’ll check the boot for water ingress, but any other thoughts?

TIA, Stu

What lube were you using that turned to "slime"?  Did you do both ends of the shaft?  Does the "slime" smell like transmission lube/gear oil?

Castrol Molub-Alloy Paste White T. Should be sound. I may have used to much the time before. I did do both ends, both came out the same.
I’ll have a sniff when I get the shaft out.

Edited: PSF I guess you’re thinking potential output shaft seal leak. Which is a v.good thought, I assumed a water mix. Lets see what I find.
