H I ALL my 1984 K 100 with 58000 miles is for sale.BMW UK have verified build date as 1983 so bike can have historic status with DVLA ((road tax/mot/ultra low emission zones exempt .Runs like a dream low mileage  tyres, some fairing scratches but nothing over bad.The RS is for the SPRINT twin headlight fairing, £800 would be a fair price i think PM me and we can talk more about the bike.

i think the tax exemption goes on year of registration , but mot exempt for sure , 800 for a early K is cheap and should sell very easy . i just sold a project for 850 , unfortunaty when he saw my K cafe racer he managed to buy that off me £4300 was to good to turn down , as soon as it went i could have kick myself , so now i have to build another , they are great bikes . i have a few bikes british , USA , Jap but always went to the BMW first .

The exemptions according to DVLA are date of first reg or date of manufacture. I priced it for quick sale hopefully to a member on the forum.

Historic vehicle tax exemption
You can apply to stop paying for vehicle tax from 1 April 2022 if your vehicle was built before 1 January 1982. You must tax your vehicle even if you do not have to pay.
i hope you are correct as it would mean my camper is also exempt which would be great 

somewhere in DVLA is says vehicles over40 yrs old can apply for Historic registration this then includes the exemptions stated hope this helps my computer knowledge and memory of what/where i found things is limited. ULTRALOW ZONES  EXEMPTION is the main part as this saves a small fortune

My K100RS is 1983.

According to UK...once it is 40 years old it is exempt from ULEZ. One of the reasons I have it is because my daughter lives in London.

In Ireland we get cheap road tax [€26] at 30 years old.

So where did it go? 

A  few folk might be wondering about this thread. 

Look what my 'postman' brought this morning.

The first and most immediate task is to delete the side stand self retracting 'feature' before I even try to ride it or else pop a K1100 assemply on it as I have one spare.

I am happy with my buy, its as I was told.

I plan to replace all the vacuum caps and pipes and Z pipe and outside tank fuel lines. I have all the bits. It has the Sprint twin headlight fairing so a relay and 2 ceramic bulb holders and high wattage H4 bulbs will give me some serious light at night. I have a temperature gauge and sensor kit to go on it too.

Your K has gone to a good home John and thank you for everything.

Possibly.

It has not done much travel in the last few years, 4,500 miles in 7 years. Battery is 6 years old.

I have not even fired it up and a quick look tells me I need the usual vacuum pipes and fuel lines and Z pipe etc. They are good, but fuel lines are original so I will replace the lot. Brake pads and fluid change is lined up.

I got it collected and the chap who collected it used engine power to get it into the van so I did not need to know more.
