Note the twin headlamp I've been searching for years (and never found) and the nice side panels fitting the blank space due to the lowered seat.

A very nice example! As a rider and proponent of BMW's (tho' sadly unlicenced to the originator) version of the Hossack front suspension on the K40 series K bikes, I'd love to try this one.

Any ideas re. the provenance? My understanding is that BM waited for Norman's patents or whatever to expire, before handsomely nicking his entire idea. That doesn't sound 'right' so maybe there's more to it than that. Anyway, prior to that, if BMW were showing interest in the (still-licenced) Hossack front end, then maybe this Hossack Logo'd K100 is connected to that - an 'official' factory-sponsored build?

I'd love to ride it. Maybe it's the bike that convinced BM to take up the idea for later Ks?

How's the crowd-funding going btw? My rival plans to own this bike involve the probable purchase of a lottery ticket, or maybe a pre-Christmas bank job.

I suspect the twin headlight set up is the same as the Sprint fairing. Looks identical to my headlight arrangement.

But the bike looks good too.

At my opinion, it was an aftermarket accessory made by Wüdo for K100. Rare: this is only the 3rd one I've ever seen...
But the optics were used on many aftermarket fairings, so probably for the Sprint also.
I've sent a message to Wüdo asking if they still have one...maybe? Even a single support without the lamps would be OK.

GSXR1100/750 twin headlamps (of that era) fit nicely inside a Sprint fairing - I guess they'd fit the OE RS fairing too.

Make your own. There's enough thread on the fairing mount to put a bit of 3mm thick flatbar detween the fairing and the spider. See here:-

Post 9 onwards. The biggest grief is getting the plastikard cutouts correct. Since then I've done an RT fairing using the same setup but I raised the lights so that they are in the centre of the nose. I did consider doing something similar to that bike (above) but I don't have the tools needed to create a good extension to the fairing where the lights are mounted.

Chris: you're right about the GSXR lights. Initially I measured a set up with the intention of using those, but it quickly became apparent that there was no easy way to mount the GSXR light frame to the K100 spider/fairing. That was the point I decided to go the do-it-from-scratch route and use a more modern pair of headlights.

From what I see of the Sprint so far, the twin lights are mounted on the mounting spider inspendently of the fairing. The Sprint fairing has 4 mounting points and while you have to remove it to anything its quite easy to drop it down from the 4 mounds- the RS mirror/indicators disconnect just inside the fairing so no need to even take them off.

Bulb replacement is a cinch.

But, to adjust the beam you need to drop the fairing.

And...you need a headlight relay.

My Sprint fairing came with a spider for the OE basic K100 headlamp. I wanted twin headlamps so I just welded brackets on it to fit the GSXR twin setup*. I also made a filler piece out of acrylic sheet - pretty much as Dai describes. Not a huge job.
