I have a recurrent problem with my K100 - 1985. Sometime I hear a bad knocking sound from the engine (everytime not only a specific rpm range). When I accelarate then the bike is lazy and loud. Suddenly (e.g. next starting) the problem no more and the engine sounds ok.. I think this problem come up usually when the bike is not used for a plenty of days or weeks..

Anybody has or had similar problem? Could it be because of the s*** quality of te petrol?

or any idea?

Have you checked that all spark plug caps is pushed fully home and is properly seated?

A small thing too.....does it go away if you pull in clutch lever?
