Ok so in my ongoing quest to lube the clutch splines..........the cluth spline is connected to the transmission housing, the transmission housing is connected to the clutch mechanism, the cluthc mechanism is connected to the......ok so its not actually connected the the exhaust but the exhaust is in the bloody way!

Resigned myself to a nut splitter to remove the nuts on the exhaust flange (ooh matron) as they range from 10mm to 13mm depending on corrosion or rounding but have noticed a small hole in the very corroded exhaust headers where they meet the cylinder head.

My questions are:

Can the headers be repaired? Is it worth it (the rest of the exhaust is fine)? Has anyone got any experience in using 8v K downpipes on a 16v 1991? I would rather not replace it as a single unit as replacing it with a split downpipe and silencer system would future proof further corosion.

Grateful for considered advice as always.

potentially the headers could be welded back to how they should be.... (scary i have just suggested welding in 2 threads consecutively)) I am sure others would disagree, and i was advised the welding on my exhaust bracket on my car wouldn't last 6 months... that was 5 years ago...

Can't comment on the 8v 16v fit mind...
