Hi all

First trip of the year today, just to find out that the speedo is not working. Checked and cleaned the sensor at the rear drive, checked the plug on the RH side but no effect. The thing worked when i parked the bike for the winter, did a spline-lube with gearbox off, did I miss a ground somewhere?

Any trick to test the sensor or any advise would be appreciated :-)

Regards

Bjarne

Probably just a bad connector somewhere along the line.

Since you already have checked the connector under the battery cover,
next to check would be the connector behind the instrument cluster,
pin 2 and 3 from bottom, right side is the speedo connectors.

Next known connector that isn`t that cooperative time to time,
you can read about in this thread.

Then you also could check the four pin connector that CF mentions in the
beginning of the thread.

To check the sensor, connect a analogue multimeter to the wires coming from
the sensor...set to 10V AC, spin the back wheel and the needle should move
forth and back....and peaking around 1V......if I remember correct.

Before I learnt to clean the internal speedo connectors, tapping the glass was the usual way to get the needle moving again. If you try that, Bjarne, and it works, you will know where to look for a proper cure.
Cheers, Paul.
