Hi,

I'm in the process of trying to get the water/oil pump off my K75 engine. I'm stuck at the first step, trying to get the cover off the pump. I've removed all the bolts yet the cover won't come off, even after prying slightly with a screwdriver. There's no apparent sealant line; the cover is bonded tightly to the body.

How much leverage can I apply to the cover? I've tried finding a purchase point for a knife blade but none exists.

Any ideas welcome.

try a few licks with a plastic hammer and then tap a small flat blade screw driver between the cover and body of the pump mine was stuck too but a few stabs with a screw driver freed it up

*Edit* Tried gently hammering the screwdriver. Suddenly, part of the seal broke with a "pop" and I was able to slip a knife in between the gap and wrestle the cover off. Didn't know how much force I was allowed to apply to the cover, lest I warp cover or score the face. Thanks.

Doing it with care is the right way, I am sure everyone of us has used too much force sometime when doing a job and had to replace or repair the damage, good on you.
